PAUL “BUD” HAEDIKE—A 97-year-old veteran of WWII served in the U.S. Air Force on a B-17 bomber at age 19, just like my dad. Last night he received a Freedom Award at the 2022 Provo Freedom Festival. My lovely niece, Camilla Billings, escorted me to the deluxe dinner event and took pictures of me with the special guest and his son David. I was delighted to present a copy of our new book: Talking Tulips to Bud because not only did he complete 23 combat missions, but he also made 3 of the food drops to the starving people of the Netherlands. This is his story too!
