It was such a thrill to meet a real and still living WWII B-17 Bomber Veteran on Independence Day this year. Paul “Bud” Haedike who was honored at the Provo Freedom Festival called me on the phone and then mailed a list of his 23 bombing missions over Germany in 1945. He also included the details of three additional Mercy Missions or food drops over Holland he participated in May 1st and 2nd, and 3rd of 1945 (see below). Bud is literally one of the heroes of our Talking Tulips story!
